My roles are Dad/Family man, IT Evengelist, or athlete/coach. You pick. These are my roles and I am passionate about each one.

I view DESIGN (solutions to the problems we encounter in our various roles), EXPERIENCE (drawing from lessons learned and using our basics to scaffold solutions), and BUILD (implementation of the DESIGN) as deeply interconnected disciplines. I love taking an incredibly complex problem and leading a team to distill it down to a gorgeous, simple and effective solution.

I am an expert at envisioning a novel and compelling solution and then converting the vision into something practical.

The vision comes from understanding user needs, both hidden and obvious, while the practicality comes from knowing the art of the possible and understanding the beauty of simplicity. This expertise depends on my strength in scoping: prioritizing the most important needs of the end users within the feasible space of family/engineering/sports solutions (including the pragmatic realities of team skills, budgets, and schedules).

I also firmly believe that  focusing on the correct 20% will bring 80% of the results.  This belief, along with the KISS principle, keep my solutions, lean, elegant and focused.
